Opportunity Details
Camp Bridges
Camp Bridges is a day-long bereavement camp for children who have lost a parent or other loved one to homicide, suicide, or another traumatic event. Such unexpected loss can make a child feel all alone and “different” from other children. Camp Bridges will bring together thirty-five children who have had similar experiences for a fun and healing day.
As a volunteer Camp Buddy you will have a meaningful and fun experience that will help create a lasting, positive impact on the life of a child. You will be matched with a child for the day, providing companionship and support and accompanying them through the day’s fun activities.
Orientation
ALL Volunteers: There will be an orientation for all volunteers at 10:15 a.m. the day of camp, before the campers arrive, to share how you and staff will work together to support the campers.
