Akron Pride Festival Volunteers

The Akron Pride Festival returns to downtown Akron this August, with a variety of volunteer opportunities available. New this year is the Akron Pride 5K, taking place on Friday night (August 25th) before the festival kicks off Saturday morning (August 26th) with the Equity March at 10am. The day is filled with entertainment, children's activities, vendors, food trucks, and much more, ending with a fireworks show around 10pm. Volunteer activities are available at different time slots throughout the weekend. Some tasks you can assist with include:

• Assisting at the 5K race on Friday: guiding runners along the course, passing out water, stocking the post-race snack table
• Helping run games and inflatables at the Children's Area of the festival
• Selling merchandise at the Akron Pride Merch Tent
• Walking the festival footprint; finding full trash cans and bringing them to nearby city trash trucks to be emptied and returned to their original position
• Collecting tips for the drag artists during their performances

All volunteers receive a volunteer t-shirt, name tag/lanyard, lunch provided by Diamond Deli (an Akron classic), access to the volunteer area (incuding snacks and water available throughout the day), raffle tickets for prizes donated by local businesses, and an invite to our volunteer appreciation party held in the weeks following the festival (including a catered meal and additional prizes/gifts for our volunteers).
