Serve Foster Youth as a Court Appointed Advocate!
Serve foster-system-involved children and youth in Cleveland as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), a unique volunteer role that allows you to come alongside a child or teen in foster care and help provide a lifelong impact. Children with a CASA volunteer spend less time in foster care, are more likely to achieve family permanency, and are more likely to attend school regularly and perform at grade level.
CASA volunteers visit vulnerable kids in their homes and schools, make best interest recommendations, and serve as their voice in court proceedings. Training and support provided; volunteer candidates must be 21+ years of age, pass a criminal background check, complete the CASA training course, and be willing to commit to a specific child or youth for the length of their juvenile court case. **No deadline or start date for this activity; ongoing throughout the year.
