Assist residents in their search for employment through facilitating jobs workshops and/or working one-on-one with residents. The process includes listening to individual’s skills and background to craft resumes and cover letters. Online searches in the shelter’s computer lab and coaching in interview skills may be components of the position.

 Duties/Tasks:

• Listen with residents to get a sense of their interests and employment background
• Coach participants in demonstrating a positive and appropriate work attitude
• Identify possible directions for job
• Assist with resumes
• Assistance does not entail dealing with sensitive client information which would be handled through client’s caseworker.

• Ability to teach appropriate work skills, attitudes and behaviors
• One who has patience, understanding and enthusiasm
• Understands our participants and the culture of the shelter & agency
