Warehouse Days
We need help with various warehouse tasks:
1. Sorting kitchen items into sets and packing them up. We deliver these "kitchen box kits" to the aged-out foster youth who request them - typically boxes full of plates, bowls, mugs, cups, and silverware. We also pack boxes with more baking items or cooking items when we have them.
2. Rehab some furniture. Some of the items we receive need a little TLC, or could use an update. An example would be sanding down a nightsand and repainting it, or fully assembling a dining room table to make sure we have all the necesary screws and pieces.
3. FaceTime with the recipients to help them choose which furniture items they'll be receiving. We get a list of items they need, but being able to show them what is actually in our warehouse and letting them have a say goes a long way. This may be the first time they've ever gotten to choose furniture, and it will give them a sense of pride in their new space!
