Furniture Delivery Days
Help deliver donated furniture items to aged-out foster youth's first home on their own!
These young adults are typically 18-21 and beginning independent living after spending a significant amount of time in foster care without finding their forever family. We provide furniture pieces to bring their new home to life, and deliver them straight to their home at no cost to them. These days can be long and involved, but very rewarding! A typical delivery day starts at 9:30am at our Cleveland Warehouse, pulling the requested furniture items and loading them on to the truck. Then you'll follow the truck in your own vehicle to our first delivery destination, unload all the items, and put them in the correct rooms inside their home. If anything needs assembled, you'll help set it up. Then on to the next!
We have anywhere from 1-4 deliveries in a day, spanning across 6 counties in Ohio: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Lake, Medina, Stark, and Summit. You'll have to be able to lift large furniture objects (with help of course), and transport yourself between locations. We will have a staff member drive the truck and supervise the day.
