True2U Mentoring Program
True2U Mentoring Program is a meaningful way to make a difference while creating a positive experience for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District's (CMSD) 8th-grade scholars. The True2U program is entering its 11th year, focused on helping CMSD 8th-graders explore their strengths and prepare for high school as an essential step toward career readiness. We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join us as volunteer mentors for the 2025-2026 school year. Deadline to apply is September 15th

True2U is proud to partner with the Greater Cleveland Career Consortium (GCCC) and support the PACE (Planning and Career Exploration) Framework in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD), an embedded curriculum for 6th – 12th graders that provides them with the knowledge, skills, experiences, and confidence to uncover the occupations or careers they want to pursue. True2U is the hands-on volunteer mentoring program that helps CMSD 8th graders explore their true selves and prepare to make the most of high school as an essential step on the path to career readiness.
As a True2U Volunteer Mentor, you can help scholars:
- Develop good decision-making skills
- Prepare for their high school experience
- Leverage their strengths and interests as they start on their career pathway
True2U Volunteer Mentors:
- Work with a class of 8th-graders one morning a month during the school day from October 2025 – April 2026
- Use their unique backgrounds and True2U curriculum to assist a class of 8th graders
- Help scholars to have a better understanding of themselves and the opportunities available to them
- Are matched with a mentor partner and an 8th-grade class at one of the CMSD K-8 schools
- The exact days/times of the 2 hr. mentoring sessions will be determined in coordination with each school
True2U Mentor Support:
- Mentor training in facilitation and the True2U curriculum
- Welcome Orientation is provided prior to the start of the program
- School, Teacher, and Mentor Meet and Greet
- Curriculum Training is provided throughout the program year
