Welty employees give back to the community with a wide variety of projects and ways to serve. Please browse the list of volunteer opportunities below and sign up for the one that you would like to serve at.
For anyone volunteering – there is a section in the ‘Time off’ tab in BambooHR to request volunteer time off for opportunities that occur during the workday. Each employee has 4 hours of VTO available to them – these hours can be used to do volunteer work within the WEC-administered events, the events below, or other opportunities that you would like to pursue, so long as your request is approved!
How to Register (first time only):
1. Before you can register for volunteer opportunities: Click the green "Log in" button on the top right of the page to begin registration process. Click “register” on the bottom left of the pop up window
2. Create a volunteer account: You will be asked a set of basic information questions (only a few are required). Please use your Welty email address.
3. Verify your account: You will receive an email to verify your email address. Note, this code sometimes gets stuck in our email server or spam so you may have to re-send the code if it has expired. Reach out to ehamlin@thinke4b.com if you have any questions or issues registering!
4. Then you are ready to sign up for any upcoming events on our portal!
How to Sign up for an Event:
- First you must register on our volunteer portal using your work email and contact information. See above steps
- Check out the volunteer opportunities below: You can view by alphabetical order, location, or date. Click on the opportunity logo or name to learn more about it and view available time slots.
- Once you have registered on the BVU portal, you may sign up for any event and your hours will be automatically tracked for reporting which will earn you WEC incentive points for Welty Gear! 0.5 Hours = 1 Point, 1 Hour = 2 Points.
- Make sure to request Volunteer Time Off (VTO) in Bamboo prior to registering for an event during work hours – you may do so through the Bamboo app, access through our Welty Intranet, or go through the direct link here: https://thinkwelty.bamboohr.com/app/time_off/requests/create
- Once you sign up, you will receive an email confirming your participation and it will include a calendar link so you can easily add to your Outlook calendar!
- Your event coordinator will reach out to you in advance of your project to let you know what to wear/bring, parking, and other project information if needed.
